After we officially chose a date for Sarah & Justin’s engagement session I had a mini panic attack. Why you ask? Well we settled on November 16th and knowing Cleveland’s weather, I wasn’t quite sure what was in store. I checked the weather report numerous times leading up to the day and was in serious denial when the forecast was for 55 degrees and some sunshine! I mean, it had just snowed not long before, so I assumed the day before the session things would quickly change and we’d be stuck with frigid weather and yucky skies. Thankfully, that forecast held up, and we had a perfect fall day in downtown to shoot their engagement session!
When we went to scout around some new areas in Cleveland to shoot in, Jim and I decided we would plan a sort of walking path for the group of us, and lucky for us, Sarah & Justin were super laid back and liked the idea of taking a stroll so we could stop at a good amount of different places for photos! It ended up to work out super well!
As we were walking, we spotted Cleveland Browns Stadium (okay, First Energy Stadium technically) and we decided it was a prime time to take some photos in front of it. Only, Sarah quickly told Justin to “go ahead” and stand in front of it by himself and that she was good to just stand back. So what did he do? Naturally he went over to take a couple shots, and this is what ended up being my favorite. I like to call it the “new poster boy for the Browns” haha! So much fun, but after yesterday’s less than stellar performance it makes me a little sad to look at.
We then got back to the actual engagement session, and as we were walking we found these awesome trees that had some red berries on them that were so great since most everything else was already pretty bare!
This session started getting a little chilly, so thankfully it was just about time for an outfit change and they were prepared and had warmer outfits the 2nd time around!
All in all this session was so fun! I love engagement sessions because not only do we get an opportunity to figure out the style that the couple likes, but we actually get to KNOW the couple while we’re out and about shooting. Things we learned about Sarah & Justin? They’re awesome and they always find a way to have fun, which translates to the fact that we’re sure they are going to have an incredible wedding, and we can’t wait to shoot it next year!
Can’t wait to see you guys again soon! 🙂
